A major recognition of our work

Beate Ebert, our association's founder and first chairperson, has been awarded the Engagement Award of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for her many years of outstanding personal commitment to implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The award ceremony took place on June 18 at the BMZ in Berlin.

As the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) writes: “Thanks to your commitment, a broad public has been made aware of various projects and initiatives based on the SDGs. In particular, through your active association and public relations work, you have been drawing attention to the development challenges in Sierra Leone for more than ten years. Through your engagement in the town twinning between Aschaffenburg and Bo and the founding of Commit & Act, you are helping to improve the protection and rights of girls and women, especially in Sierra Leone. In doing so, you contribute to raising awareness of the 2030 Agenda and promoting its vision.”

Our project was selected from around 100 nominations. We are very happy about this extraordinary recognition.
